In construction, and especially in hardscape applications, the job is only as good as the mason that installs it. At a former job where I designed pools for a different pool company to install, I was amazed one day when the pool contractor sent a crew of 11 stone ‘masons’ to install a massive stone veneer retaining wall at the back of a pool. This wall spanned the entire 100 foot back edge of the pool, and should have taken at least 2 weeks to install, but this crew knocked the entire wall out in one afternoon. I was amazed, until I stopped to take a closer look at the job. The stone quality was almost as poor as the installation. There were no clean lines or smooth edges to the stone, and mortar joints were evident to even a passing glance. Quality masonry takes time and effort. This is why we do all stone and brick masonry in-house with only qualified, competent masons performing the installation.
Another important element that requires an expert eye and detailed hand is the development of water features. Whether they are part of a pool or free-standing waterfall and koi pond, the craftsmanship on a waterfall is a key element that can either make or break the entire development. I have seen far too many excellent ideas for waterfalls installed by less than capable hands, causing the entire job to ‘miss the mark’ or take a downhill turn for the worse when the final product is unveiled.
In the end, we want to be satisfied with the job almost as much as we want you to be satisfied. We take great pride and ownership in our work, and enjoy the opportunity to take prospective clients to previous jobs to display firsthand the quality of the jobs we install.
